One can’t help but wonder: are we actually in Purgatory?

And can we reduce our sentence with partial indulgences for good behavior? #AskingForAFriend

It’s been about 1,000 years, so surely our due time has been served.

After spending this mini-eternity submerged under the weight of suspended existence and 24/7 media coverage of bleak coronavirus news, it’s about time for some heckin’ rainbows and sunshine.

In with the new, out with the old.

The cliché about it being darkest before the dawn has never rang more true.

Like a lotus flower growing out of the deep, dark mud – blooming into all its splendid magnificence – this world can too. Like a snake shedding its outgrown skin, society is going through some of its own growing pains.

Undergoing its own metamorphosis. Shedding its old mold, leaving something more powerful and resilient in its place.

And you too may be in midst of similar transformation. How could you not be?

The world as you knew it can to an abrupt halt, forcing you into some uncomfortable new normals. Forcing you to adapt to unprecedented challenges that no university, media outlet, or Google search could have prepared you for.

Maybe you were one of the 33.5 million (and counting) Americans forced into unemployment. Or you were “lucky” enough to keep a job, but that meant putting yourself and your loved ones’ health at risk.

Maybe you had to cancel a wedding. An IVF transfer. A graduation. A milestone birthday or celebration. A marathon you’ve been training for all year. A trip you’d been saving for and planning for years.

Perhaps you had to give birth without your spouse, mother, or doula with you. Or you got sick yourself. Lost someone you loved. Lived in fear and/or suffered domestic abuse.

Some of you had to balance work and child rearing/educating without any help.

We’ve all battled cabin fever, missing out on important social interactions to help keep us sane in this time of extreme anxiety.

So stop for a moment, breathe, and remind yourself what you’re capable of. Because, you’re living through the worst pandemic to plague the globe in the past century.

And you deserve a round of applause. So give yourself a pat on the back (and then promptly wash your hands, please).

We are allowed to mourn the death that has been hovering over us like a hungry vulture for months.

But today, we’re here to talk about life. Life after Covid-19.  Here are three reasons to celebrate. And a reminder that life is still flourishing.

Sneak Peek

1.) Flash forward to the corona crisis and I daresay history couldn’t help but repeat herself.

I’ve never seen so many neighbors and friends on Instagram getting back to our fundamental American roots…

As warlike anxieties crept into our collective conscious, we did what we’ve always done. Tried out the ol’ self-reliance bit (thanks, Emerson).

As it turns out, you can’t survive independently in the wake of any societal collapse if you can’t [blank]…

And even if society and its systems don’t totally implode after this, all is not for naught.

Let’s take a look at just a few of the benefits of these modern day [blank]…

2.) Try naming 29 countries… now try naming 29 you think would outrank us...

I did thorough research on some unintended consequences of America’s Achilles Heel.

After several eye-opening (read: alarming) conversations about this hot topic throughout this crisis, I could write a book on this section alone. But I’ve summed up some important bits (including expert commentary) in our “RESOURCES” section on the homepage — you will get your password for that once you sign-up for the FREE newsletter.

I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the inevitable changes coming in [blank].

3.) What do Aliens and Covid-19 have in common? Spoiler: this isn’t a crazy conspiracy theory. And it’s definitely good news.

But I’m going to make you subscribe to find out what I’m talking about here.

 I promise, it’s worth it.
