*401(K) penalties have been waived. Traditionally, you would have to take a 10% early-withdrawal penalty. The federal government has made it legal for qualified account holders to withdraw up to $100k, penalty-free during these unprecedented times.

*Hospital and health care workers and businesses with more than 500 employees are eligible for additional compensation/assistance. Ask a financial planner, accountant, or banker for further information.

*A second stimulus check bill could come as early as June, as 84% of Americans reported wanting a second check. And a whopping 94% support sending recurring monthly payments to those who have lost jobs or wages (until the pandemic ends).

According to a recent WalletHub poll from late April, 160 million Americans (and 64% of poll respondents) say they are three months away from running out of money, putting pressure on the Senate to get a second stimulus bill passed, in spite of Mitch McConnel’s reservations.

The Senate is in session until July 3, when they will go on a two-week break surrounding the July Fourth holiday. That gives them more than a month to offer new ideas or extract something from the pre-existing HEROES Act.

The first relief bill, the $2.1 trillion CARES Act, took 10 days from inception to getting it passed. Things will be trickier this time around, as the Majority Leader has a laundry list of concerns about adding trillions more to the federal deficit.

In the meantime, you may want to reach out to your senators regarding specific proposals aimed at putting more money in your pocket ASAP.
